my system is win2000 pro sp3. i just installed iis to run nntp service.

I believe that the NNTP service is only included with the Server
versions of Windows, not the Professional versions.

You may be interested in looking at our MPNews product, which is a
standalone NNTP server that can run on Win2K Pro - see

An exelent place to start is http://sourceforge.net/index.php where
there is an outstanding library of Open Source (ie free) software.
