I have a server with several printers set up on it, and I'd like to clone
them to transfer them to a new server to be taken a different location.
The second server won't be a clone of the first one, so here is my question:

Anybody knows if cloning printers is possible on unix? and if so, what files
I have to back up to clone the printers from one server to another?

Thanks a lot for help/suggestions in advance

How you do this depends on the flavor of UNIX/Linux/BSD you are running
and how elaborately the printer devices are configured. For example,
if they are using 3rd party drivers from HP (or some other vendor) you
have to install those drivers in the same place on the new server.

Again, the details depend on the system type and/or vendor. I suggest
you ask in comp.unix.admin which is a group about administration of
*NIX systems. Or better yet in a group that is specific to
*administering* the flavor of systems you are talking about.

Thanks for your help Chuck.

I have been told by several people that it is v. difficult if not impossible
so I've decided to do the work manually and one by one. Will take me ages
but if I don't start will never finish it.
