as per our req. we have to show company's stock price always on left navigat
ion in theme . there are third party company like marketwatch who will provi
de us data .

my question is how can we achive this ? can we write regular Java code in th
eme to display stock price ? will it work ? or is there way we can develop p
ortlet and add in to theme ? please help us out .

I think there is still a stock quote portlet demo in the WSAD/RAD examples (
uses YAHOO/finance which is very commonly used).

Why not just make it a portlet?  This is a good example of what portlets are
 for.

Can you please send me a link to that example of stock portlet  ? Also in ou
r mockup its on left navigation so was worried as we cannot use portlet in t
heme .

So finding way to add servlet or some code in NavigationTree.jsp so it will 
display stock data .. but let me get link to that example , we can change de
sign if its perfect...
