Dear All,

If there are 2 network interfaces on my CallManager, and I use hostname
instead of ip address in CallManager server configuration.
What is the default ip address for CallManager? What can I do to switch the
ip address between those 2 interfaces on Callmanager flexible? Thanks a lot.
.

Regards,

Alan

Having both interfaces enabled with different IP's can
lead to problems and isn't really supported last I
checked. In newer cisco OS's the second NIC is
disabled by default.

Awhile ago, a client had issue where both were enabled
with different IP's and sometimes call manager service
did not start. This was because sometimes when server
booted the other NIC became active first and was first
listed in the network interface output in ipconfig
output. Call manager database has the IP address in
it's database and that has to match the first
interface windows is returning for call manager
service to start. This was from 3.3 days and from a
TAC case 1-2 years ago, so not sure if ccm service
behavior changed or not since.

You can do network interface teaming with two NICs,
per this document...

Having multiple IP addresses on a CM server is 100% not TAC supported
and will cause problems sooner or later.
