Once anything touches a computer (or even in the vicinity of a
microphone) it's pretty much out there.  I'm no lawyer, but the bad
karma (and probably
illegal) move is not so much distributing or somehow losing your serial
number but rather using a serial that's not yours.  That is, while
putting the serial number on this list is indeed "bad form" and "the
single stupidest thing" etc., a person who uses the serial is really the
bad person.  Not trying to argue or dismiss the whole thing--but maybe
diffuse it a tad=3F
