I was successully installed CS2006 (no errors). But I am having problem a
couple problem opening the application.

1. When I tried to open the commerce site (CSharpSite) I got the error
message: Log in failed for user 'NT authority\Anonymous Log on'

2. When I tried to open the Catalog Manager I received this error message:
The Catalog Web Service is unavailable. The Web Service may be experiencing
technical difficulties or you may be to adjust your connection string.

My web server where commerce is installed is on a different server than my
SQL server. Installation notes said that I have to create a local account
CSWPA on both computer with identical account name and password and I did
that. I am not sure if I missed anything. Anyone installed cs2006 without
any problem please let me know what I should do to fix these problem.

Thanks a lot.

Hello Andy,

I don't think the problems you've indicated have anything specific to 2006..
we've run into these problems on 2002 too

For 1, disable "Anonymous Access" on the webserver hosting your site
For 2. try accessing
http://youservername/CatalogWebServ...WebService.asmx directly
through your browser...

From what you've mentioned about your setup I'd say the problem might be
that the account you're accessing the Catalog Manager web service from is no
t
available on both the machines.. it is simpler if you have a AD in place and
both your servers are part of the same domain.

Hello Andy,

The error you are receiving appears to be a SQL connectivity issue. Take
a look at the connection strings inside Commerce Server Manager. Also, you
might want to pop open SQL Profiler to make sure the connect is getting thro
ugh.

Cheers,
Colin

I've registered for the Beta Newsgroup. But when I go to
http://webnews.microsoft.com (the HTML version) it says that I do not have
access to any Beta programs. This was after all the many. many steps
required to get signed up. What else do I need to do? Do this require
special permission from someone at Microsoft? Do I have to contact my rep?

It seems odd that they make it so much more difficult to collaborate at the
Beta level than any other. Seems to me that they would get much more out of
this the other way around.

Stuart,

It will take up to 24 hours for the beta newsgroup accesss to become active.
If you have registered at connect.microsoft.com make sure to setup your
password under the Newsgroups option (left side bar) and just hang on for
about 24 hours.

Cheers,
Colin
