I'm using Win XP Pro. My notebook's hard drive is NTFS formatted. I'm usin
g
FP2003. I installed FPSE from my Win XP Pro CD. I configured the FPSE. I
can't publish locally using HTTP://.

Do I'm missing something to create the web server. Do I have to run any
program to prepare the hard drive to accept a local web server?

Thanks

You must install IIS and the FP extensions, then you must configure the defa
ult web to use the
extensions.

In addition, I think you are using the wrong URL. You should use
"http://localhost" or "http://<computername>"

I did that but it is not working at all. I also was able to create a FPSE
web site but I can not publish to it using the http://xxxx/xxxxx format.

Thanks.

Make sure you do not have any spaces, etc. in the folder names, etc. and tha
t you have configured
the FP extensions under the root web (default web) of which you can only hav
e one under Windows XP
Pro or Windows 2000 Pro.

So http://pavilion(computer's name would not be valid since it would be a se
cond root web.

Open http://localhost in FP, then create a folder, right click on the folder
 and select convert to
subweb / subsite then you should be able to publish to http://localhost/subwebname
