Hi,

What does CMS lack as far as portals go that it has SharePoint plugin? I
mean what does SharePoint do that CMS doesn't?

Thanks!

SharePoint is actually two things:

Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) - this offers team collaboration such as
document libraries etc.
SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) - which offers aggregation and search.

MCMS offers purely Web Content Management.

There are many scenarios for integration. One example is you have a team
working on a document in WSS and once it reaches the end of it's approval
lifecycle it is then moved to a Document Placeholder in MCMS for
presentation as part of a Web site.

Check out www.mcmsfaq.com/sharepoint for more information.

ah, it is all starting to clear up now. Thanks.

another question:
which of the three allows me to keep track of document changes and allows me
to approve any contente before it goes live?
