I solved the needing to read from one server and post to another bit.
It now runs as a speudo NNTP proxy, all commands are passed to the
configured news server except post, post is intercepted and passed to
mixmaster. What this means is that it works with any news reader and
news server. Reading and everything else is done from the news server,
all posting goes out remailers. Same on-the-fly configuration of the
current news2remail.

It's also compiled as a windows exe. It's really easy to set up and
run. But it still requires mixmaster be installed and configured to
send mail. My question is, is there value in automating the install and
configuration for mixmaster? Or is this something people prefer to do
themselves?

I think it would be best to leave the users to install and configure
mixmaster themselves. After all, they should at least have *some*
involvement and understanding of the mechanism. If they have the brains for
it they probably shouldn't be using it in the first place.

Why do you think that?

Why should they?

Maybe.

But why is mixmaster so special that its installation on Windows should
not be automated? Should that also apply to Linux?

It would have to be optional to avoid conflict with or overwriting of any
existing versions running on the users computer. Apart from that, you may as
well make it the complete package right from the start as you're bound to be
nagged into it later on anyway.

Because clueless neophytes might make mistakes like believing anything you
say or trusting your honeypot remailer Eeltard. It's a matter of them at
least knowing enough to keep from outing themselves through total
ignorance.

But that's exactly what you want, isn't it freak? A fresh new batch of
users you can manipulate. I can almost cite word for word the sock puppet
games you're about to play. You'll take a bit of abuse and "deal with it"
the same meddling ways you always have because someone does something that
lets you meddle. Then you'll stroke your own "ego" with this NSA puppet
or any of the scores of other fake identities you use to make it look like
someone agrees with you.

You're pathetically transparent Eeltard.

It's a legitimate concern that making it simple to post to the remailers
from any news client will increase garbage on the remailer network (for
your definition of garbage). It likely will, along with casual use
increase (remailers for the masses brings the masses and everything they
entail). That is why I posted asking the remops their opinion. The
ones that responded, responded in favor of releasing, so I continued
development.
