Tor/Privoxy works fine with my browser but I can't get it to work with my
newreader (News Rover) I'm using the same settings as I used in Firefox but
no luck. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks....

Can't be done.

Privoxy is an http (WWW) proxy, and News Rover is an nntp (Usenet) client.
they speak two different languages.

What you need to do is get News Rover to use Tor directly (if it supports
SOCKS proxies), or find some other "interface" utility you can use to make
it do its thing through Tor. The most common methods are to use something
like SocksCap to "Torify" your news client more or less directly, or set
up local "proxy" like socat that will accept your news client's
connection, and feed it to Tor.

From the FYI department, this may not work at all with your ISP's news
server. A lot of them only allow access to machines that appear to be on
their "home" network. With Tor you'll look like an outsider, and will be
denied any access at all. And if you're planning on using Newsfeeds, they
already know who you are and can "track" you by your login information
whether or not you use Tor. They can also see everything you do, as once
your connection leaves the Tor exit node everything is in the clear.
