Please forgive me for asking this, as this has most likely been
covered. I have scanned old posts .. .not sure I am finding what I
seek.

Just a quick question, I want to make a phone call and block the
receiver from seeing my phone number with their caller ID. .. . am I
to understand I merely have to dial *67 before calling and this will do
it?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yes, *67 on touchtone, 1167 on rotary.

I wouldn't count on much privacy from selective caller id blocking.
Most govt. agencies and businesses have automatic number identification
which will still display your number.

Yep. What he said. You are better off stealing a phone from someone you don'
t
know and using that.

The cheapest answer is to buy a TracFone, and a phone card for it with
minutes on it. use a library computer or cyber cafe to activate the phone
online.
Then use the phone. when you're done with it, take a hammer to it and
throw the pieces away.

Try using SkypeOut (http://www.skype.com) to make calls from over the
Internet. Even if a phone number is passed to caller ID it won't link back
to you unless you also use SkypeIn. It's not completely anonymous since you
do have to have a SkypeOut account, but the people you are calling
shouldn't be able to track the call back to you.
