I updated a new install and a pop up window said this...

"if updated manually, SuSEconfig needs to be called afterwards.
Additionally, the httpd server needs to be restarted."

Has something to do with suse help...susehelp system (base)...

How do i call SuSEconfig and how do i restart httpd server?

Thanx

just do as it suggests. In a console, as root, enter
SuSEconfig
httpd restart

I you updated with YaST, then you are not doing a manual install and can
forget the message. SuSEconfig will be run after all the updates are
installed.

SuSEconfig is indeed run by YaST after an update. However SuSEconfig
does not restart the httpd server for you. You have to do this by:

rcapache restart

or

rcapache2 restart

depending on whether you installed 1.3 or 2.0.
