Hello,

I am trying to install BizTalk 2004 on my Virtual PC. Here's the
onfiguration of my VPC whick I have setup as a DC.

1. Windows 2003 ENT Edition Service Pack 1
2. SQL Server 2000 Service pack 4
3. Computer name is poly2k3dev1
4. Domain name is POLYEMAILDEV1

I created all the users and groups as mentioned in the doc. The
type of the groups created for all the BT groups is "Security Group - Glocal
".

When I start my installation of Biztalk 2004, all the groups get mapped
correctly to the Biztalk excepted group name. I do not get an excalmation
mark to remap to a correct group. That is how I know all the groups have bee
n
mapped correctly. I also verified the log and saw the following
"POLYEMAILDEV1\BizTalk Application Users is a valid domain group" for all th
e
groups that I predefined before installation.

Just to ensure the installation completes, I also added the groups
"POLYEMAILDEV1\BizTalk BAS Administrators" and "POLYEMAILDEV1\BizTalk Server
Administrators" group to SQL Server login as System Adminstrators. Note, my
domain is POLYEMAILDEV1.

I keep getting the following error and does not lallow me to complete the
installation.

Failed to create SQL login for BizTalk Administrators Group on database
server "POLY2K3DEV1\POLY2K3DEVSQL2K1".
Windows NT user or group 'POLY2K3DEV1\BizTalk Server Administrators' not
found. Check the name again.

Why does the install look for group "'POLY2K3DEV1\BizTalk Server
Administrators" instead of 'POLYEMAILDEV1\BizTalk Server Administrators'. Th
e
group 'POLYEMAILDEV1\BizTalk Server Administrators' is defined and has users
in the group and the uers.

Any help with issue the above is appreciated.

Thanks.
Vijay

You need to create local group, and then add your domain group to it

- Biztalk Application Users
- Biztalk Isolated Host Users
- Biztalk Server Administrators
- SSO Administrators

ex. "Biztalk Server Administrators" local group add your domain group
"POLYEMAILDEV1\BizTalk Server Administrators"

Thanks Alex. I will try creating the local groups and reinstall 2004. In the
meantime I installed BT 2006 on my VPC and was able to succefully install an
d
configure all the components. The configuration wizard is exceptionally user
friendly and allows to select the domain users accounts and groups.

Thanks.
