My company is in the process of co locating our core servers.
In the process, we are changing the way we do our backups (Win 2003
servers).

The result is we will have a number of files which need to be
transferred via a VPN tunnel from one site to the other. The original
copy of the file at the non co location site will then be deleted.
For me to be comfortable doing this, I want some method to be sure that
the file transferred correctly. I was thinking creating an MD5 sum and
sending it along with the file to the secondary site, cross referencing
them, and if they match deleting the original file. I have some rough
code written do to this, but I'm wondering if there is any type of
professional software designed to handle this type of job.

www.availl.com

This software will backup one to many and go Wide Area File. You can
have the same dataset at both locations, as the files are changed,
they are replicated in real-time, byte level only.
