It won't allow me to change my password. My credentials cannot be validated.

Checking the application event log, I got this error:
MCMS security service cannot log into mcmssystem account due to error 0x775

How do I fix this?

Hi Pete,

if this is Windows XP it is most likely this problem:

Hi Pete,

if you open the SCA does it tell you that the MCMS system account is
invalid?

Cheers,
Stefan

Yes. It states "The system was unable to log on to the MCMS with the
specified System Account credentials. Please click configure button and
update the System Account credetials to correct this problem." I click the
configure button, enter my credentials on the update credentials pop-up,
click OK, and I get "The Windows NT domain name, user account and password
provided for the System Account can not be validated. Please make correction
s
and try again.".

Hi Pete,

ok, the account you entered seems not be an account that can be used on this
box.
Is it a domain account? If yes: is the machine from the same domain?
Did you test a local machine account?

Cheers,
Stefan

Yes it's a domain account and it's what I've been using ever since.
