Does anyone know if/how you can use Compressed RTP from an IOS Gateway
(H.323 mode) to terminate trunk calls on CallManager 4.1.3? I have a few
IOS Gateways that are currently trunk connecting into pre-arranged adhoc
conferences. I was hoping I could utilize cRTP to further save bandwidth.

Cheers,
Eric

Hi,

>From my opinions you couldn't use cRTP on broadcast network.
It's only appropriate on p2p links.
If you want save bandwidth on LAN, look to the
1/ Different codec
2/ Lager payloads

Yep.... I have already done both of those. Using G.723 (5.3kb/s) and 60ms
sampling. Even with a 40 byte payload, the packets are mostly headers. The
WAN links are BRI interfaces, so I might try using IP header compression on
the outbound WAN interfaces.

Cheers,
Eric

Yes,

On the WAN, you can.
One note, cRTP must be configures on both side of link.
