Hi-

I'm a lurker, but am pulling my hair out over this bug and am hoping for an=
y
kind of help I can get. I have a flashComm app that works just fine in IE
on both Mac and Windows, and in Safari and Firefox on the mac. However,
when I run it in Firefox on Windows, I get a weird bug. The UI componenets
(buttons, grid boxes, etc) won't accept input if they fall off the browesr
viewable area (ie you have to scroll down with the browser scrollbar to se=
e
some of the flash content, any UI components in that area don't register.)
To top it off, sometimes if you click about half an inch below where the
button is, it will work. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Lucy

Which version Flash Player are you using on Firefox for Win?
I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling Player 8.

I have seen a wierd bug with the flash player and scrolling.. like it will
think it's still "up" in the browser even after a scroll.. if that makes
sense. Do you have to scroll to get to the input areas?

Are the components in a swf that is loaded by the 'root' swf (the one loa=
ded by the web page)? I know this caused some problems if the components =
were not present in both swf's.

Good point Stefan in regards to teh matter.
=20
Firefox will not warn you if you need a newer version of the Flash Play=
er and try to play a FP8 movie inside its FP7 plugin. IE will.
=20
Firefox runs Flash player as a plugin. IE runs it as an ActiveX control=
. They even get separate install procedures, so you might want to check y=
our Flash Player version in Firefox.

We have also had a similar problem, we have a photo reorganizing flash =
app
that behaves strangely if the app gets sized longer than the browser =
window
(it is sized based on the number of photos being reorganized). We are =
only
able to reorder pictures in the original area that the flash file is =
loaded
on the page, if we scroll down, the app no longer works.=20

One of our developers looked into it quite heavily and didn't find a
solution for it, it's quite frustrating. If I'm not mistaken the flash =
app
only gets mouse coordinates relative to the browser window, not the =
actual
page itself.=20
