Switch To edit mode issue |
 |
 |
|
|

Hi,
I got a problem with switch to edit mode link.
I deployed the MCMS site from the development server to the production. It
has been imported with out error and I have transfered the required files to
specific virtual directory. The site is working fine. But when I tried to
access the Switch To Edit Site link it happened nothing. I got object
required error.
Can anyone please advice me.
Will be appreciated if in advance, since the issue is most urgent
Regards

Hi Durai,
Please check in your IIS manager (run-> inetmgr) if there is a virtual
directory named "MCMS" pointing to
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\MCMS"
(configured as an application with blank name) under default websites, under
MCMS there is another virtual directory named "CMS" (CMS shouldnt be
configured as application)
if this exisits check where it is pointing to, it should point to
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\IIS_CMS"
or the path where your mcms is installed.

Irfan

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I have checked both the MCMS and the CMS virtual directories pointing to the
same location as u mentioned.
Actually when I clicked its not redirecting to
"/NR/exeres/36ABD184-6C9B-45A0-AEDF-29B616090446,frameless.htm?NR.......",
instead it stays with the same place
"AGOC/En/AGOCDefault.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2f......"
What could be the other possibilities. Do you think this could be because of
any access or privileage permissions......
Thanks & Regards,
Durai

Hi Irfan,
The Virtual directory MCMS is pointing
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\MCMS".
But configured as an application with the name as MCMS. The same is
available in the development server as well.

Hi Irfan,
these directories are not relevant for webauthor.
The CMS virtual directory for webauthor is required inside the template
project web application.
Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Durai,
I assume you missed to create the "CMS" virtual directory inside your
template web application (not inside the "MCMS" web application.
It needs to point to the "IIS_CMS" virtual directory.
See here for details:

Hi Stefen,
Thanks for your reply, but can you tell me in more detail, the exact
location to create CMS virtual directory. So that it will be easy for troubl
e
shoot.
More over I just created a new sample site in the same server, for which the
switch to edit site is working perfect. but the migrated site from
development alone is not working...
Please advice me...
Thanks in advance
