Be very careful, there is a thread about this on one of the legal
newsgroups.  Toys R Us won a legal action against a company who had
registered a number of "R'us" websites.

The court saw it as diluting their brand and the company was ordered to hand
over the domains

Nope, I just tried to find the article that I had read but found others e.g.
FirewallsRus were sued by ToysRus and even a charity called CatsRus were
bullied by them

The enclosed undertaking they require us to sign states that  we shall
not use the "R" US or ARE US marks and that we shall forthwith remove all
CATS R US from vehicle, premises, stationery, advertising and promotional
material we should either destroy or deliver to them any such material and
make arrangements for all telephone listings to be deleted as soon as
possible, in return they would refrain from bringing proceedings against us.

Definately be carefull on that one.
Have you ever heard of any other  <name>"R"us companies out
there in the real world?
ToysRUs does have this trade marked.  They use a backwards "R" in
thier logo, however for purposes of computers and other things like
seeing impared signs the "R" has been trade marked and written both
forwards and backwards.

This fashion for mangling the English language isn't one to encourage or
emulate. Try to persuade your client to find a distinctive name that doesn't
make his company sound both illiterate and unimaginative. Because Toys R Us 
is
such a big brand, we forget how stupid it sounded the first time we noticed 
it.
