We have a commerce server 2002 standard edition in which
we are attempting to pack the current site for deploying
to a second webserver.

config is this
all server os's are 2003
2 webservers (iis6)
backend sql server (2000)

We have 2 issues

first issue
we get the following error message during pack

80040E14:Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL
ServerDescription:The query and the views or functions in
it exceed the limit of 256 tables.

i can't beleive it would have this limitataion given it
claims to handle 10,000 catalogs

second issue
we get the following error message during pack

[15:48:19] Error finding IIS object for
CSSiteNameHere:Overflow

The problem you are experiencing when packing the site is a known issue &
we have recently fixed this with a Commerce hotfix. You can obtain the fix
by opening a Case with microsoft Product Support services, please reference
this article when you open the case: 838638. Optionally, there is a
work-around available that is described in
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=332122, but this would require the sites
to be recreated after enabling incremental site IDs.

The Commerce Hotfix article is not been fully published yet but the hotfix
is available from PSS. The problem is due to the non-incremental site
numbering for IIS6 with Windows 2003.

Hope this helps!
John

is this only for the over flow error?? or does it fix the

It will only resolve the overflow message you are getting. The other issue
appears to be related to the number of virtual catalogs within the base
catalog, I believe that PSS is already following up with you for this issue
as well.
