I just installed a new dvd burner. It will read a cd disk, but will not
read or burn a dvd disk.

When I go to My Computer, click on the dvd drive, and select properties, it
acts like there is no dvd in the drive.

I am using dvd+r disks.

Anyone have any ideas on this problem please ??

Thanks for any help on this.

You must install the burning software that was supplied with the drive as
there is no native DVD burning capabilities built in to Windows XP. You
likely got a version of Nero or Roxio on the installation CD that came with
the drive. Install and use it to burn DVD's.
