Hello. I had to reboot recently after 142 days of uptime nonstop. After the
reboots, I noticed my
Debian's apcupsd wasn't connecting and reading my APC UPS via a USB cable. Y
ou can see the whole
thread at http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/...d
=26961 ...

Others and I found out that we needed to type as root: modprobe usbhid

It worked, but why do I have to do this? Adam thinks that it should run by i
tself with udev which is
installed. Is there a configuration file or something to run this? Or maybe
something broke? I know I
upgrade daily and saw udev replace hotplug during those 142 days of uptime.

Thank you in advance.

No, no one knows. Just add "usbhid" to the bottom of /etc/modules to fix
it permanently.

Do a "man 5 modules" too.
