Hi
I'm having the same problem as a lot of other people from the sounds of it.
I've installed VS 2005 then MCMS SP2 and the MCMS Template Explorer seems to
be missing from the IDE.

Ive seen a previous post referring to the hotfix KB 914195 but i cant seem
to find it on microsofts site.

For background, Im developing off XP and obviously using the default website
for the MCMS.

I've tried changing my locale regional settings to english-us as found in
the blog but this didnt seem to make a difference.

I welcome any new ideas?

Thanks

Hi Diddle,

you need to open a support case with Microsoft to retrieve this hotfix.
It is not available for public download.

Be aware that you need to use location "http" when creating the project.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I'm seeing the same error message, was a support case opened for this?

Thanks,

Rod

I'm experiencing the same behavior, but only when adding the MCMS
project to a larger solution. By creating the MCMS website project
first, I can get the Template Explorer window to appear. It stays
around for a while - even after adding my other projects to the
solution - but inevitably will dissapear, usually after closing the IDE
or trying to dock the window.

Opening the MCMS website in a separate instance of the IDE, however,
makes the Template Explorer window (or the menu option) to available
(in the MCMS project only instance, not the multi-project solution).

It would appear then, that the only way to develop with VS2005 for MCMS
is by using two instances of the IDE - which is highly inconvenient to
say the least.

Nice job guys.
