I have a receptionist who answers the phone for two different businesses. I
would like to let her know what number the calling party dialed before she
answers the phone. Is there a way that I can do that?

Couldn't you set up to CTI routepoints as destinations for each of the
incoming store numbers, and have those route points CFA to the operator?
That way she would know?

And better yet, if you made the route point DN's match the store's
incoming number, I bet She would get the actual number they dialed to
display on screen.

I really like this solution.

If you go a step further and modify the target line so that you check Caller
Number as well, you will see the caller's number (which may or may not be i
mportant). The end result is something like:

FWD <calling numer>
For <dialed number>

or

FWD Calling Name
<calling numer>
For <dialed number>

You'll have to make sure that the voicemail profile is pointing to the right
spot and that there is an alternate extension for that number on the approp
riate voicemail box.

You could have each phone number that comes in ring to a different line.
Maybe on the 7914 or a '41/61/70/71 it would light up the line so it
would be visual as well. That's how I normally configure systems that
need to tell the difference between one inbound and another inbound.

Thanks guys. This is what I was thinking in the begining, but wanted to see
how others do it. I like th eidea about modifing the CTI RP's alerting
name. This is going to make it so easy for the receptionist to answer for
the right business.

Thanks,
Steve
