I recently had a crash of my laptop and thought I was covered with my
back up on an external Maxtor One Touch HD. However, with the house
move I have done within the past year I seem to have lost the CD that
came with the HD (I know, very stupid of me). I installed the SW that
comes with a new Maxtor One Touch II but it appears as if the new
version of the Dantz Restrospect software does not recognize the back
up I have sitting on the external HD. Does anyone have any ideas on
how I can remedy this without paying through the nose at Seagate to buy
software? Thanks

What version of Retrospect did you have?
Check the Retrospect web site.
Newer versions likely will read older backup files.
