What is the best wireless authentication type to use where the domain
is based on NT4, Client PCs are using Windows XP SP1, the AP is an
Enterasys RC2 and RADIUS server is Win2k3 IAS. The Radius server can
be a member server if required. Our preferred authentication type is
username and password integrated into the domain. However it appears
that in order to use PEAP-EAP-MS-CHAPV2 the IAS server must have a
cert from the Domain. All of the documentation seems to refer to
Active Directory environments, will this work with an NON Active
Directory NT4 Domain.

PEAP-EAP-MSCHAPv2 works with NT4 domains. PEAP-MSCHAPv2 requires the SSL
server cert used by Web servers. You can get a SSL server cert from any
Public CA (for example, Verisign has a web page that assigns SSL certs for
IAS ).
