I am an SBS2003P newbie who is trying to get Cygwin email working on my
server. I have configured Cygwin email as follows:

2006-06-08 12:49:49 Administrator@p42800e ~
$ email-config
Please enter your From: name (e.g., John Doe) [Your Real Name]: David
Christensen
Please enter your From: email address [yourlogin@example.com]:
Administrator@p42800e.holgerdanske.com
Please enter your Reply-to: email address []: dpchrist@holgerdanske.com
Enter 1 to use sendmail or 2 to use a SMTP server [1]: 2
Please enter the address of your SMTP server [127.0.0.1]:
Please enter the SMTP port number [25]:
Please select SMTP authentication (1 for none, 2 for LOGIN, 3 for PLAIN)
[1]:

2006-06-08 12:50:19 Administrator@p42800e ~
$ egrep -v '^#|^$' /etc/email/email.conf
SMTP_SERVER = '127.0.0.1'
SMTP_PORT = '25'
MY_NAME  = 'David Christensen'
MY_EMAIL = 'Administrator@p42800e.holgerdanske.com'
REPLY_TO = 'dpchrist@holgerdanske.com'
SIGNATURE_FILE    = '&/email.sig'
SIGNATURE_DIVIDER = '---'
ADDRESS_BOOK = '&/email.address.template'

When I attempt to send a message via Cygwin Bash:

2006-06-08 12:50:44 Administrator@p42800e ~
$ echo "foo" | email -s "test" dpchrist@holgerdanske.com
email: FATAL: Could not connect to server: 127.0.0.1 on port: 25:
Software
caused connection abort

Caught an ERROR, Shutting down...

I don't know if/where Cygwin email writes a log file.

Looking in Windows Event Viewer, I don't see any clues.

STFW, it looks like Windows SBS SMTP is incorporated into IIS and that
there
is supposed to be a way to manage SMTP via the IIS manager. When I
start
IIS Manager,  I see:

Internet Information Services
P42800E (local computer)
Application Pools
Web Sites
Web Service Extensions

I don't see anything related to SMTP as described here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323436/en-us

Any suggestions?

TIA,

David Christensen
