Nope, it is not a default value. It depend on which all CommerceModules you
choose to activate along with your site. Each of the resources you see
under
your site (and ) Profile create DB connections.
This is one of the reasons that SQL Server licensing for Commerce Server is
always Processor based and not CAL based licensing.
