i have set up a web service on my pc many times & always found hit n miss

just set it up after reformatting & it doesn't work properly:

install iss components
pointed http/web home directory to my web folder
left windows to take care of passwords

my web folder has 2 windows users set up - each with different
password/priveledges

xp firewall activated with permission for http web service pass thru

still wont work -tried to access my web folder via http - get page not found
(doesn't even prompt for user & pass)?

am i set up correctly - is there something i've forgotten?
