AD plugin on a W2k3 Domain |
 |
 |
|
|
06-13-06 06:11 PM
I'm trying to install the AD plugin and keep getting the following error:
Error:Setup failed to connect. Please enter your Host Name, Port Number, Dir
ectory Administrator DN and Password again!
I've verified these 100 times over and still no luck. This is the first tim
e I've tried this to a widnows 2003 domain. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!

Is there any pix between the CM and AD? If so, we ran into a problem
with the fixup 389.

Get a sniffer capture, look at the ldap packets and see what's going on.

The quickest way to isolate the issue is with a packet capture of the
Publisher when doing the AD Plugin. Looking at the LDAP packets should
help you see what the failure is.

Well after doing the packet capture I'm getting invalid credentials error in
the Bind result.
It's LDAPErr DSID-0c09334. What is the correct format for AD Admin DN?
CN=USER, OU=Container, DC=domain, DC=Domain?

The format you use depends on the Object Class of each Container.
Object Class of the container using the following steps:
- Open Active Directory Users and Computers
- Click on View and check mark Advanced Features
- Right click on each container and select Properties
- Select the Object tab
Note the object class for each container and use that to build your
Admin DN.
