Hi,
Was hoping one of you could help me work out what a local attachment
is:

When i load up the document manager through the radeditor. It pops up
with two additional tabs

One being Upload Attachment and the other being Local Attachment.

What is the difference between these?

Nothing seams to happen when i use the local attachment.

Also is there anyway to make this not visable along with the target
option in the browse files tab when you want to insert a file.

Hi John,

I'm not sure what telerik means by these two terms.
MCMS differentiates betweens local attachments and resource gallery items
used as attachments.
Local attachments are items that belong to exactly one posting. They have
the same securty as the posting they belong to. Caveat: if you would like to
use the same attachment on different postings you have to upload them again
and again for all postings and if you have a new version of the attachment
you need to edit all postings and upload the item again and again. So the
item is also stored multiple times in the MCMS repository

Using Resource gallery items for attachments is a different concept. The
security for resource gallery items is configured on the resource gallery
they belong to. Resource gallery items only have to be uploaded once and can
be reused multiple times on different postings.
If a new version of the binary is available you only have to update the item
in the resource gallery and all postings will automatically reflect the new
content.
