I am looking for a document or article about "How to implement proxy for
BizTalk 2004 using ISA 2004".
Does any one know any good site where I can read about this?

Hi Siva,

Is your question about: how to connect to the biztalk server 2004 behind
isa server 2004?

If so, as we all know BizTalk 2004 supports kinds of transport types, like:
HTTP, FTP, File, SMTP, etc.

Therefore if you are using HTTP/SOAP/FTP protocols for message delivery,
the method on ISA is just like publishing a Web/FTP server since they are
all based on IIS.

Thank you for your reply.
I am a student and just started my full time job about less than a month
ago. I am new to B2B world. I have been assigned to a task. That is my B2B
department wants to use ISA 2004 in the future so I have to do some research
on how we going to move to ISA 2004, what implementations we have to do to
make ISA 2004 work as a proxy for us, and how BizTalk 2004 is going to do
validate and send acknowledgement for the XML messages with this ISA 2004
proxy.

I did a lot of search on internet. I couldn’t find any good sites. Do you
know any good website or book where I can get the information for above
questions?

There may not be dedicated web site or document about this because BizTalk
is one of Microsoft E-Biz server which focuses on EAI and ISA generally
acts as a proxy server focusing on networking. They are working on totoally
different layers.

As I stated, BizTalk supports various of transport types like HTTP, FTP,
File(SMB), etc. We cannot guarantee all of them are supported by ISA but
most of them should be.

So which transport type is being used by your BizTalk application?

transport. We are also planning to use SOAP in the future.
Is there any way to learn about how BizTalk and ISA are going to work when
we use above transports?

Hi Siva,

Then this is a typical ISA scenario. When you are using HTTP, you just need
to use Web Publishing Rule to publish the IIS sites hosting your BizTalk
application or web service.

For FTP and File Server publish, you can post an issue to our ISA
configuration newsgroup for more details.
