I had an unexplained reboot of the re-mailer PC that I didn't notice. I
have been very busy lately with work and Doctors appointments to try to fix
the back problems I have. This is actually the first opportunity I have had
to have a look at this group. Unfortunately, my delivery deadlines don't
change because I had to miss some work days with the back problems. So, I
had to play catch up and neglect everything else for a while.

I don't know when it went down, I just happened to notice that the
customary sound of the CPU fan was not speeding up when Reliable is
processing a batch of messages. This was before leaving for the office one
day last week.

So I used the USB KVM switch to have a look at it. It was stuck at the boot
authorization level. (I probably overdid the protection of the re-mailer PC
hard drive from intrusion, full on the fly disk encryption and the
re-mailer running out of TrueCrypt containers) I have chosen to password
protect and encrypt everything. Bringing the re-mailer back up after a
reboot is totally impossible unless all of the passwords are entered
correctly. I start everything up manually including Reliable.

If the re-mailer PC is powered down for any reason, I believe I have as
much protection of the data and keys that forensic analysis of the drive
would be nearly impossible to recover any useful information.

Oddly enough, the main PC was displaying errors writing to my USB outboard
storage drive. It was the giving me the error message of disk write
failure.

The 2 PCs are seperated network wise and the re-mailer PC is on a small
UPS. There were no indications of a power outage though.

The only thing I can say for sure is both PCs experienced some problems. I
am at a total loss for an explanation.

I apologize for the inconvenience I may have caused anyone.

Regards To All,
