Some considerations for a reboot.
When you changed configuration files, after a boot you will find out
everything
keeps working.
At boot time the machine checks some default hardware and memory.
Theres allways a possibility of a power interupt. Your machine might not
work because
of some stupid reason you would find out after a conditional pre maintenence
boot.
Youl might find out your bios battery is empty or defect.
As you will see these are more or less hardware related. Concerning linux
there
is allmost no need to it.
When running in an cluster enviroment I would do it every 6 months. When
running
stand alone, at leased once a your, if uptime is importend.
