Gurus,
I have a question regarding the structure of the BAM
Databases,
My client is interested in using the BAM infrastructure to persist the
data during the processing of the orchestration and later do a ETL
process into thier Enterprise Data Warehouse and use it for long term
analysis.I have a few questions regarding the issue.
1.Which database would be appropriate to do the extraction from, my
best bet is BAM archive,
since it will contain the historic data, but my only concern is whether
any data is removed from the primary import and is lost forever when
doing the archiving process, warranting the use of the Primary Import
Database.
I know that this is a unique situation, but any little suggestion which
i can get will be of great help.

You could pull the data from there, but I'd probably setup my activity as a
historical collection, then edit the DTS package. I'd change the package so
that it does not move data to analysis services cubes, but rather moves the
data to your custom store where you can do the analytical processing.

Hi Bharath,
The solution from Matt is a good one given what you want to do. The only
problem is that there might be issue when you do upgrade. Just make sure
that you have a copy of the original DTS somewhere and if necessary to
revert it back prior to any future upgrades. Just a thought so that you
client is aware of this. I got your email posted thru my blog as well.
Happy BAMifying
