I have recently taken on responsibilities for installing and modifying wordpress for a long establ
ished website. The unfortunate thing is that many people have had their hand in building the curre
nt website and no one is really sure of certain specifics. So, here's my problem. I did a new inst
all of Wordpress 2.0.1 a couple of days agog on my companies server, everything went well except t
hat after I log into wp-admin everything is blank (only white space). When I view source on the bl
ank page, all i get is this <?xml version="1.0" encoding="us-ascii" ?>. I can view the pages of th
e blog but not the wp-admin pages. You can view the blog at www.earthsky.org/blog. I di
d a post on the wordpress user forums but no one could help me. Every one seems to thin
k the problem lies in the server configuration. You can read the wordpress thread here.
 http://wordpress.org/support/topic/80386. I've checked the .httpd.conf and
haven't found anything that refers to the code in question.

So, can any one tell me why this code <?xml version="1.0" encoding="us-ascii
" ?> is being added to the top of every page on the earthsky.org website. Ca
n anyone tell me where it's coming from and, if I get rid of it will it solv
e my wordpress issue?

Any help would be appreciated.
