LOL... you're right, I meant plugging it in.

The external drive was new, but I followed the instructions which didn't
require formatting. I assumed the software on it took care of everything
[as advertised]. ;) Hope that doesn't prove to be a mistake. :\
Can you or anyone tell me why the drive flashes sometimes, when I thought it
would only *be in use*... when I have scheduled the backups. Does it
periodically check for something, or do other Windows programs activate the
drive?
I am also concerned that the history file [which apparently is for the
different days I scheduled for backups], has selected only 5 program
folders, which must be the only ones Maxtor has determined that have
changed... and if this is so... it is not right. I use netscape daily as my
browser/mail reader.
It has selected my AV, Firewall, MusicMatch, Opera [which I am testing],
and
a Sierra/Hoyle Game folder. Is *activity* the reason for this, and what
must I do, to get all the Mozilla folders backed up in the History files?
Or is there some other reason?
I didn't get to make a choice whether I wanted a full daily backup or just
backup the files *that changed*... that's why I'm in the dark. Any usage
advice from someone who is familiar with Maxtor's software for the *Mini*...
would be greatly appreciated. I have googled, read every Maxtor site and
just can't find these kind of details. TIA... once again.
