Hi ,

I've been using Microsoft Commerce for about 6 months now, and have a
query.
In FP1 i have two discounts say A and B applied on the same item.A has
priority 6 and B has priority 60. both discounts are applicable for a
given problem. As per the documentation A should have been applied .But
B
applies .I'd appreciate info on why.

2)Even though we are using the redeem coupons component in the basket
pipeline , the coupons get redeemed but the usage limit doesnt get
incremented. There must be something else that can be done.

regards,
Robert

Greetings Robert,

The best way to troubleshoot a discount issue is to use pipeline logging in
conjunction with the tracing feature of the OrderDiscount component. There
are many issues that could prevent a discount from applying including date
ranges of the campaign item, active status (approval status), interactions
with other discounts, and expressions not evaluating as expected.

If you set the _Trace_Discounts key in the pipeline context dictionary (or
PipelineInfo["_trace_discounts"] =1;) before executing the basket pipeli
ne,
then it will output a key that contains a trace of the discount algorithm.
By then capturing this to the pipeline log, you can see trace information
for each discount that is loaded into the runtime cache and the expressions
that were evaluated, etc. This information is written to the key
_discounts_trace_info in the order dictionary.

As to issue 2, the RedeemPromoCodes component should be running in your
checkout pipeline and not your basket pipeline. The usage limit, per se,
isn't decremented but you should see a record in the
mktg_promocode_transactions table associated with the redemption.

Have you captured a SQL trace of the transaction yet?

Thanks and regards
