Vacation -- syntax for email aliases?

Hi, all. I am using Red Hat 9/sendmail 8.12/vacation 1.2.6. (I had to
install vacation separately because for some reason Red Hat stopped
including it. But that weirdness is for another post.)

In any case, my question is simple:

What is the syntax for the -a option to vacation? More specifically, can I
include a whole email address as an alias? The vacation man page only
uses local aliases as examples.

So, for example, can I expect this to work:

$ cat .forward
\jeff, "|/usr/bin/vacation -a jeffrey@jhu.edu -a jeffrey.silverman@jhu.edu j
eff"

I hope I am making myself clear. Of course, I am going to test this but
actually vacation makes itself difficult to test because of the whole
"don't respond to the same sender within certain time limit" thing.
(Which I think is 15 minutes?)

Allrighty, thanks!

Its okay. Don't everyone respond at once!

In the interest of closure (which is sometimes missing from Usenet posts),
the answer is "Yes, it will work"

I tested the above .forward file and yes, it worked.

Thanks, Jeff! You are really cool.

You posted this an hour after asking the question, in a forum
where no one makes a cent answering any questions and folks
give answers for the joy of helping others. Do you really
think this comment makes folks able to answer your questions
more inclined to do so in the future? Think about that at
your liesure.

Please don't lecture me. I am well aware of how Usenet works.

Also, please have the teensiest bit of a sense of humor; I was just
joking with the "Don't all respond at once" comment (although I can see
how the sterility of plaintext can reduce, somewhat, the subtle nuances of
speech.)

I didn't have to post anything at all to close the subject. I just thought
someone would appreciate the closure.

Don't worry, I got it ;-)

The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be a
capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the
safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

It's taken the incentive right away from me contributing to helping
him fix his problem, I'll tell you that.

Double your money back if not satisfied. Sheesh.
