I am experiencing problems with portal server, it is crashing on a regular b
asis.
at present we are re-starting the server twice in a week just to refresh the
 JVM heap.

The native_stderr.log file under <install-app>/PortalServer/log shows that
 ****************************************
************************************
*
**Out of memory, aborting**

*** panic: JVMCL053: Cannot allocate memory in allocHeap for heap segment

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
JVMDG217: Dump Handler is Processing a Signal - Please Wait.
JVMDG315: JVM Requesting Heap dump file
JVMDG318: Heap dump file written to D:\WEBSPH~1\APPSER~1\heapdump.20060702.1
14050.7172.txt
JVMDG305: Java core not written, unable to allocate memory for print buffer.

 ****************************************

I get the heap dump but no javacore file.

My current setting of JVM heap is min :512 max:1512
Host Operating System :windows 2003 version 5.2
Java Version : J2RE 1.4.2 IBM Windows 32 build cn1420-20040626
JIT: jitc enabled

WAS : v5.1.1.7

Any Suggestion!!!
