Edit /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config
Comment out the last line as described in the file.
Edit /etc/X11/xdm/kdmrc
Change enable=true in the xdmcp section
Edit /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf
Change enable=true in the xdmcp section
Edit /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess
Set up which machines you want to give access to. I allow all connections
in this file because I control access with my firewall.
Edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop
Change the DESKTOP= and DISPLAYMANAGER= lines to reflect the systems you
want to use: XDM KDE GNOME.
telinit 3 to stop the X server.
telinit 5 to start the X server.
That should do it... though there is currently a thread going here where
KDM won't run as the display manager for remote connections... but there's
something strange going on there.
