why ftp? ftp is very simple protocol, not meant for rich user experiences,
just for brute force file transfer. that it can be used from IE is nice,
but that doesn't make it any better. ftp won't generate thumbnails for you,
or at least windows stock ftp server won't. either set up a web site with
thumbnails and links to download the full file, or try a third party server
of some kind that is meant for whatever you are doing.
