I just did a quick search on e-Bay. There are fifteen X6541A cards
available. Current prices range from $49 to $650. With patience and
luck you should be able to pick one up for $100-$150.
Thanks for the advice. I have started looking at Ebay for these cards, and I
guess paying $100-$150 wouldn't be all that bad, it's just tough to swallow
after paying very short money for a well-configured 220R. It looks like I'd
have to pay as much for such a card and a couple of cables, that I did for
the server.
Due to the cost, I'm wondering if a Netra D130-type setup would be a good co
mpromise. I'm assuming that it is able to use the integrated SCSI connection
on the 220R. Any other thoughts?
My problem is that I don't have much experience with low-end external storag
e, having always had an employer's money to spend. Now that it's on my dime,
it's different. ;)
