The customer we are developing CS2007 site for will not let us install using
their Administrator account in the AD (as suggested in install docs).
What is the minimal need for a user account configured to install CS2007?
Is there separate DB scripts we could use and set up rights and install
CS2007 locally and attach and configure at a later stage?
Environment Win2003 web server against separate SQL 2000 server (later SQL
2005 server), both registerd in same AD.

Any answers or experience in this matter would be appreciated.

Johan,

I'm not entirely clear on your question. You do need to be a local machine
administrator to install and configure Commerce Server on a system. You
should not require domain administrator permissions.

But I think you are asking more about the SQL server permissions. You
could have the SQL Server admin create the Commerce Server databases for
you and grant you db_owner permissions to those databases, then you can
unpack the site to those databases and as part of that the SQL roles will
be created for you. If you don't or can't use domain accounts for the IIS
worker process and Commerce Server services, you could use local accounts
with password maching on the SQL machine, but this is certainly more
painful to manage.

The deployment guide online just received major updates last week, perhaps
it will help:

Let me know if you have follow on questions.

thanks
