Folks

Trying to install BT2004 (final), I get the folowing error messages

BTSPrcCntnr.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770

(abort) (retry) (ignore)

The only way to get past being the "ingore" option

Any idea why this yould happen (tried twice on a virgin 2003 server) ?

Is it a serious problem ? What is this DLL supposed to do ?

Any pointer welcome

The Hresult maps to "The specified module could not be found. " Are you
trying to install from an ISO you have created? Seems to have files missing.

Hi again...

More info about my problem.

From the log file, I can see that the file is indeed copied from the
installer source to the HD:

MSI (s) (90:AC): Executing op:
FileCopy(SourceName=PrcCntnr.DLL|BTSPrcCntnr.dll,SourceCabKey=BTSPrcCntnr.dl
l. BAF4FEED_EB18_43fa_8804_9D3E38713B09,Des
tName=BTSPrcCntnr.dll,Attributes=0
 ,FileSize=60928,PerTick=32768,,VerifyMed
ia=1,,,,,CheckCRC=0,Version=3.0.
4902. 0,Language=1033,InstallMode=58982400,,,,
,,)
MSI (s) (90:AC): File: C:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server
2004\BTSPrcCntnr.dll; To be installed; No patch; No existing file
MSI (s) (90:AC): Source for file 'BTSPrcCntnr.dll' is uncompressed, at
'E:\Msi\Program Files\'.
MSI (s) (90:AC): Note: 1: 2318 2: C:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk
Server 2004\BTSPrcCntnr.dll

and I can confirm that it is indeed present.

At a latter stage the installer tries to regsiter the component...

MSI (s) (90:AC): Executing op: SetTargetFolder(Folder=C:\Program
Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004\)
MSI (s) (90:AC): Executing op:
RegSelfReg(File=BTSPrcCntnr.dll,FileID=BTSPrcCntnr.dll.BAF4FEED_EB18_43fa_88

MSI (s) (90:AC): Product: Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 -- Error
1904.Module C:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server
2004\BTSPrcCntnr.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770.
Contact your support personnel.

and that's where thing are turning wrong !

Any idea ?

Thanks
