Hi,

I am attempting to add the data warehouse (DW.pup) resource to an
existing CS2007 STD site but it keeps failing with the following in the
PUP.LOG; "The required Data Warehouse components could not be found.
The Data Warehouse resource will not be created."

I have followed the on line installation instructions to the letter
without any success. I have tried it in 2 scenarios, one where the
reporting and analysis server in an another server in the domain and the
other where it is local to the web server. I have also installed the
CS2007 hot fix on the web server along with analysis services 2005 with
no avail.

I would appreciate any pearls of wisdom on this as I am at a total loss
along with the developers.

Many thanks, Jamie

If the version of SQL that you're trying to unpup to is SQL 2000, you need
to have Analysis Services installed on the pup machine until the DW is
finished unpupping. This is because the cubes are created using the AS
2000 archive/restore mechanism. Once the DW is unpupped, you can remove AS
2000 from the unpup box.

If you're unpupping to a SQL 2005 machine, you need to have SQL Client
tools on the pup machine.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your response although I am using SQL 2005 and the SQL client
tools are installed on the web server where I am trying to unpup DW.

Any ideas?

Thanks again, Jamie

I just reread your original post and realized that DW is not supported on
CS 2007 STD edition. The error message you're seeing is because the pup
package is looking for a file that isn't installed on STD.

DW is part of Developer Edition for prototyping and Enterprise Edition.
