It's not a troll in the classic sense (someone intentioally pulling
people's chains to see what reactions they can get), but it has
effectively entered the realm of "garbage thread". To some casual
observers, there is no distinction between the two; that is, a poster
who takes a thread into the garbage realm and/or continues to beat it
even after its garbage status has become apparent (*), is labeled
"troll" even though the label isn't really accurate.

(*) In case it isn't clear, I *am* talking about mistral here.

P.S. As far as the technical merits are concerned, I think the OP thinks
he needs a Unix-like environment on Windows, but I believe he is
mistaken in this belief. It sure looks to me like a 1 or 2 line DOS
batch file would do what he wants.

P.P.S. As another poster noted, the combination of bash.exe and
cygwin1.dll is probably all he needs (if does indeed need that [see abov
e]).
