We are running Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 on 2000 server. We were having
trouble with the media being detected after a reboot. So mistakenly I
deleted the robotic library (instead of disabling). Now when I reboot
I get this error, "Unable to auto-configure library unit Changer0. The
current setup of the library unit does not support automatic
configuration. You will either have to modify the current setup of the
library to adhere to automatic configuration guidelines (if possible)
or manually configure the device." I have looked this up in
Microsoft's KB but do not think there suggestions will work. One of my
questions to someone who has experience with this software; Since I
deleted the robotic library is there any way to reconfigure without
needing to reinstall the software? If I do need to reinstall, how will
Backup Exec know about all my previous backups. For instance if I need
to retrieve data from a backup done 2 months ago will I still be able
to do this? I'm looking for any information that may be useful. Thank
you in advance. Peter
