We've solved the problem - it's very spooky.
1=2E Created a new MCMS WebProject, which enabled us to access
View->Other Windows->Template Explorer
2=2E Closed solution, and opened our converted project.
3=2E Template Explorer was now also visible from this project, but said
"No CMS enabled projects"
4=2E Edited the solution file manually, and moved the CMSWebproject
reference to the top as described in this post:
