Hi
I have around 500 customers who needs backup from servers and
workstations. The idea is to back everything up to a datacenter where we
have a lot of bandwith. I need some kind of solution that can make a
client-initiated remote backup. i have no idea where the clients are
(IP's unknown). Ideally clients can configure the service themselves.
Otherwise it would be preferable if we can send them a preconfigured setup.

Cost is an issue - unfortunately. Company strategy is that every client
is Windows based. Backup servers might be something else...

Any ideas appreciated

If they are just backing up to a network share, you can try Cobian
backup.  It's pretty easy to use, and the cost is right (free).  I
believe you can export and import job settings, so you can have backup
jobs preconfigured for everyone.

It's something like that i'm looking for, but with the possibility of
customizing what users are allowed to do. They really shouldn't be
allowed to do anything else than change what's backed up.

Any other suggestions?
